Biography

Robert is an eclectic 8 and 6 string guitarist who has performed extensively in the United States with a variety of groups including the reggae band Better Chemistry, house-funk fusion trio EN2, international recording artist Andrew Paul Woodworth, Rob Dixon and Treology, Cathy Morris, the Twin Cats, MAB and others – ranging from rock, jazz, funk, trance, hip hop and spoken word, classical, avant garde, experimental, and contemporary improvisation. Robert has appeared with or opened for acts such as Grasshoppah, Brad Fritcher + trois, Freekbass, UB40, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Lukas Nelson, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Garaj Mahal, Perpetual Groove, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Twin Cats, Ekoostik Hookah, Papadosio, Yonder Mountain String Band, Pato Banton, Ekoostik Hookah, and the Marshall Tucker Band, with performance credits at venues such as the House of Blues (Anaheim), The Independent (San Francisco), Headliner’s (Louisville), and the late CBGB’s (NYC).  Robert holds a Master of Music in Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, a Doctor of Musical Arts in Studio/Jazz Guitar from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Butler University in Indianapolis.
